Open Educational Studies is an open-access journal committed to making high-quality educational research freely and immediately available to readers worldwide. All published articles can be accessed online without subscription fees or other access barriers.
Immediate Open Access
All articles published in Open Educational Studies are made openly available upon publication. Readers may access, read, download, and use published content in accordance with the terms of the journal's license without requiring individual or institutional subscription.
Copyright and Publishing Rights
Authors retain the copyright to their published work. By publishing with Open Educational Studies, authors grant the journal the right to publish, distribute, archive, and identify the article as the version of record.
The journal does not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to the publisher. Authors remain entitled to use and share their work in accordance with the applicable license and journal policies.
Creative Commons License
Articles published in Open Educational Studies are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license. This license permits others to copy, redistribute, adapt, and build upon the published work for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source and that any adapted material is distributed under the same or a compatible license.
Proper attribution should include the author name(s), article title, journal title, publication details, DOI where available, and an indication of whether changes have been made.
Author Sharing and Reuse
Authors may share and reuse their published articles for scholarly, educational, and other non-commercial purposes, including personal websites, institutional repositories, academic networks, teaching and learning activities, conference presentations, professional development, and other legitimate forms of scholarly communication, provided that the published source is properly acknowledged.
Where possible, authors are encouraged to cite and link to the journal's official version of record when sharing the published article.
Version of Record
The final article published on the Open Educational Studies website constitutes the official version of record. This version should be used as the primary reference for citation, scholarly communication, and long-term academic record keeping.
Any formal corrections, retractions, or other post-publication updates will be linked to and incorporated into the scholarly record in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Third-Party Materials
Open-access publication applies only to materials for which the authors and journal hold sufficient rights. Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission to reproduce copyrighted figures, photographs, illustrations, tables, instruments, teaching materials, or other third-party content.
Third-party materials that are not covered by the article's Creative Commons license should be clearly identified with the appropriate copyright or permission statement.

Through its open-access model, Open Educational Studies seeks to broaden access to educational research in Asia, support the exchange of knowledge among researchers, educators, institutions, and policymakers, and increase the international visibility and accessibility of scholarship generated within and about Asian educational contexts.
